The Danger of Sharing Your Dreams
Sharing your dreams is hard, even when there is a benefit to sharing them and moving past the fear, it’s hard. The fear of the unknown is real. That fear is the feeling you get in your gut when you know there is new territory ahead. There’s a fear of the danger. But we are also attracted to that danger. That’s the reason why we do things which are scary, like go sky diving or watch a horror movie.
The fear comes from wondering how the person you are sharing your dream with will react. Will they reject your dream? Or support them? Fear of failure if you don’t reach your dreams. And of course, there is fear that your dream may come true.
The first time I shared my dream, a dream I had held in my heart for many years, I was terrified. The second time I shared my dream, the fear was a little less, and then each time the doubt, although it has risen up each time, has been easier to squelch.
I have felt this fear. I’ve also conquered the fear.
Do you know what happens when you share your dream? When you speak life into it? Speaking it brings it to life.
