The Daily Good: Day 17
“LOL.”
That’s what my sister sent me in a text. It was in response to something she could not do, but appreicated being asked.
“Want to come to ….” was my question.
Her response, “no thanks, I have plans” then immediately she texted back, “LOL.”
I have two sisters. One sister and I frequently communicate through the day. The other one while we don’t talk each day, our sisterly love bond is strong. If you are a sister, you understand. If you aren’t a sister, you never will understand that bond.
Sisterhood is a connection like no other.
We love each other fiercely and can criticize one another unmercifully, but heaven help if someone else were to say the exact same thing about of one of us.
I texted back, “LOL?” her quick response was “lots of love.” The narrative changed. The bond grew. One more loving string which ties us together.
LOL.
There is good everywhere, we only need to pause long enough to see it.
This is a social experiment I’m doing. Each day for 30 days (not necessarily consecutive), I’m going to find something good and write about it. These posts won’t be lengthy. The point is that if we look hard enough, there’s something we can see good in each day.
You can find the previous days here:
— Day 1 — The morning high five.
— Day 7 — The school receptionist.
— Day 8 — Funeral homes are weird.
— Day 9 — Five little blackbirds.
— Day 10 — Choosing to see the flowers.
— Day 11 — Allowing others to help.
— Day 13 — Power of a good mentor.
